Senior Vice President of Fujitec America, Inc. and Leader of Strategic Development Office
Asano is responsible for the business strategy and operations of Fujitec America, Inc. He mainly manages all engineering, technical areas in the field, and manufacturing, which became effective May, 2007. He is also in charge of the annual development plan, quality improvement plan, commercialization plan, and any coordination work with other Fujitec global companies.
Prior to his current position, Asano was chief of the development center in Japan at Big Wing for about two years. He was in charge of all mechanical, electrical and software development sections with more than 100 engineers. In addition, he was in charge of the relocation project in Japan in 2005 and 2006 and contributed to the moving of the company to Big Wing which included the establishment of the R&D facility and the completion of one of the highest research towers in the world. He served as chief of Talon Drive Project 2001 to 2005 and developed our own driving system, which is a completely different method than what the elevator industry has been using for more than 100 years.
Right after graduation from a university, Asano started working for Fujitec and has 31 years of experience in the elevator industry, all of which are with Fujitec. He has been working for Fujitec most of the time in the engineering field. Prior to his assignment to the Ohio facility from 1986 to 1997, Asano used his experience in technology, manufacturing methods, and management of engineering based on his experience in the design and development section in Japan.
